Interoception

Image of installation

Description

Interoception is a performance-installation that blurs the boundary between internal emergence and external expression. The work explores how subtle, bodily signals—nearly imperceptible gestures or rhythms—can extend outward into the surrounding world through material and movement.

At the core of the piece is an interactive costume developed in collaboration, composed of a silicone skin animated by embedded motorized mechanisms. As the performer moves, the surface responds in shifting, tactile rhythms, creating a layered dialogue between the body’s inner states and its external articulation. The result is a hybrid presence—organic and mechanical—continuously unfolding in space.
